France confirms its support for the Kurds in North-East Syria

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot confirmed, during his visit to Damascus today, Friday, France’s firm position in supporting the Kurds in North-East Syria, stressing the need to find a political solution that fully integrates them into the Syrian state.
Barrot pointed to the importance of achieving a ceasefire throughout Syria, stressing that his country is continuing its efforts to combat terrorism, especially ISIS, which threatens the security of Syria and Europe.
Bauer revealed that France launched an airstrike on December 13, targeting an ISIS site to prevent it from threatening global security.
The French minister stressed France’s commitment to supporting the Kurds and enhancing stability in the region, through a comprehensive political solution that respects Syria’s sovereignty and eliminates terrorism.
