Specialized maintenance teams begin rehabilitation work at Tishrin Dam after it went out of service.

Specialized technical teams from the Euphrates Dam began maintenance work at Tishrin Dam on Saturday afternoon, after it went out of service in mid-December 2024 due to military operations in its vicinity.
A private source in the Dam administration told ASO News Network that the teams have begun technical inspections to identify faults and assess the damage, in preparation for the commencement of the full mechanical and electrical maintenance phases of the dam’s facilities.
The source explained that the damage to the dam is extensive, especially in the external distribution and transformation area, which is responsible for transmitting electrical power to the cities and villages that rely on Tishrin Dam as their primary source of electricity. He pointed out that there is damage to some vital technical departments within the dam.
It is noteworthy that before the Tishrin Dam went out of service, it supplied electricity to several areas located on the banks of the Euphrates River, including Kobani, Sarrin, Al-Jarniyah, and Manbij.
