Drinking water has returned to Al-Jarniyah city and its countryside in the northern Tabqa countryside, today, Thursday, February 6, after an interruption that lasted several days due to the malfunction of two pumps at the “Tanira” station located on the Euphrates Lake.

Ahmed Al-Jamal, the co-chair of the Al-Jarniyah Water Unit, explained to “ASO News Network” that the two malfunctioning pumps, each with a capacity of 250 horsepower, stopped working due to weak electrical current. The station is powered by an electrical line coming from the Euphrates Dam, which provides electricity for only 12 hours a day.

Al-Jamal indicated that the two malfunctioning pumps were replaced with two pumps of lower capacity as an emergency solution, one with a capacity of 200 horsepower and the other with 185 horsepower, which contributed to the resumption of water pumping.

It is worth mentioning that the “Tanira” station supplies both Al-Jarniyah and Tal Osman stations, which provide water to more than 96 villages in the region.
