“Al-Qaftan” Damascus meeting aims to a project for all Syria

The head of Syria’s Future Party, Ibrahim al-Qaftan, told Aso news network about the visit of the delegation representing the Syrian Democratic Council to the talks with the Syrian regime in Damascus. The two sides agreed to form a joint committee to study the form of the “Autonomous Adminstration” wich is presented by the Syrian Democratic Council and the local administration low of the Syrian regime.

The committee emanating from the talks of the two parties will work on presenting a paper for the future form of Syria, which is likely to be closer to the Autonomous-Administrations, which was presented by Russia in a paper earlier.

“Al Qaftan” in an exclusive interview with our network said that” the discussion focused on the project of the “Autonomous Adminstration” applied in the regions of Roj Ava / northern Syria, in addition to discussion of the Law No. 107 of 2012 for the Syrian regime, and the Committee emanating from the agreement between the parties to prepare a united sample in the end.
A delegation of the Syrian Democratic Council met on 26 and 27 July with leaders of the Syrian regime in Damascus at the invitation by the Syrian regime, described by al Qaftan as “positive from both sides.” The delegation returned on Friday to Qamishlo / al Qamishli.

According to the “Qaftan”, the basis of the talks was due to a call from Damascus about “Al Tapqqa dam” and the mechanism to agree on the project of operation of the dam, and the benefit from it by all Syrians.

The co-head of the Syrian Democratic Council, Riyad Darrar, said that the regime should review Law 107 of the local administration by handing over the administration of other areas to its people, not by appointing a governor and a local administration.
With a question to Al Qaftan about the reason for the presence of two sides in the talks, without the presence of other parties in Syria, he said that “the abyss is considered a force on the ground and has a military force liberated large areas in Syria from the oppressor, unlike other opposition, which does not exist …” Saying that the meeting with the regime will not only depend on the shape of the North Syrian, but there will be agreement on the form of Syria as a whole, for example: “If the parties agreed on the form of self-administrations, this will include all regions in Syria,” and this indicates that the possibility of extending this compatibility with but al Qaftan stressed that the current talks are directly related to the reality of northern Syria.

In the view of the caftan, sitting with the Syrian regime face-to-face and discussing the status of the Syrian North and Syria as a whole is a gain for them, as long as the recognition of the democratic council of Syria confirms that the most important of the negotiations in his view is acceptance of “self-management” in the region.
Riad Darrar does not show full confidence in the Syrian regime. Anli is changing his mentality and security, but he asserts that negotiation and international consensus, and the support of the sponsoring countries, will force the regime to accept consensually.
