Attacking an elderly in Afrin and trying to kill him because he defended his trees

An armed group affiliated to the “Al-Hamzat” faction controlling the village of “Shorba” in Afrin countryside, stormed the house of “Zaeem Omar” and beat him, in retaliation for having prevented the elements from uprooting his olive trees.

When the wife of Zaeem Omar” screamed, the elements fled, but they had stabbed a “Zaeem” in his neck and beat him with the soles of the pistol on his head until he lost consciousness.

In parallel, the “Al Nikhba” faction controlling the village of Shekhwitka in the “Moatbali” district released “Abd al-Raouf Ibrahim” after being forced to pay a financial ransom (250 thousand Syrian pounds).

The aforementioned faction had also kidnapped “Fouad Ali Kartanji” on charges of dealing with Autonomous-Administration previously, and his fate remains unknown until now.

According to activists from Afrin, the faction demanded “Fouad” relatives to pay a financial ransom for his release, estimated to 25 million Syrian pounds.

It is reported that “Fouad Kartanji” was kidnapped last year in the city of Azaz and was released after paying a ransom of 5 million Syrian pounds.
