In the time of Corona… ASO’s editor reveals the suffering of families and children in Kobani
ASO-Sherin Temmo
Despite all the devastation that families in North-East Syria have endured after their occupation by ISIS, the Syrian families stand in front of all odds, and still bear the most difficult in facing the spread of the Corona virus and the application of the curfew that the poor paid for in Kobani.
After the imposition of The Autonomous-Administration in North-East Syria, the decision of curfews, the Kobani’s families had great hope to receive aid and assist from the Autonomous-Administration, especially since most families work on a daily basis and their livelihood was cut off after the imposition of the ban.
Among them is a simple displaced family of 7 members, the youngest of whom is an infant, who does not obtain baby milk due to the constraints of her family, when ASO’s editor moved to her to monitor her suffering and reveal the damage caused to one of the dozens of Kobani families, whom the international community did not pay attention to at the time of Corona.

“Sawsan” family, who is thirty years old, is satisfied with what they suffered as a result of their displacement from Raqqa and other families waiting for the Autonomous-Administration efforts to protect them from want and hunger.
In intermittent terms and tears that do not stop, Sawsan told us that her husband was working as “a painter”, but he stopped working six months ago due to health conditions, and he had started work two weeks before the start of the ban in a building workshop to recover the debts that had accumulated during the recovery period, but the ban has started, and the living situation started getting worse.
Sawsan adds that there are thousands of families in Kobani who live in the same conditions when their breadwinners lose their work, noting the urgent need of these families with these aid, which would not have contributed to a serious commitment of the people to the domestic ban if the Autonomous-Administration provided them with financial assistance.
Immediately, ASO’s editor went to the Deputy Joint Presidency of the Social Affairs and Labor Authority in the Euphrates region, “Moro Hussein” to present the case of the families of Kobani to him, and thus stated, “The reason for the delay in the aid is due to the accurate collection of statistics for the category most in need.”
Stressing that the Autonomous-Administration in North-East Syria has allocated one thousand food baskets to the Euphrates region, and the lists in their possession that exceed the number of these baskets prompted them to allocate additional baskets of the Commission’s budget.
“Moro” stressed in special statements to ASO news network, that the baskets, each valued at 35 thousand Syrian pounds, will be distributed to the most needy group during the next week, and it is likely to be distributed periodically if the health crisis continues, noting that a third of the baskets are distributed in the city and two-thirds in the countryside.
On March 29, the Executive Council in North-East Syria issued a circular requiring the distribution of food baskets to families with limited incomes in all the Autonomous-Administrations during the curfew imposed on the region to avoid the spread of Corona virus.
