The areas of northern Syria, including Afrin, which is under the control of the Turkish occupation and its armed factions, are witnessing a state of fear and tension between militants and settlers, after statements by the Turkish Foreign Minister that a reconciliation should be concluded between the opposition and the regime to solve the Syrian crisis.

Cities witnessed demonstrations denouncing the statements of the Turkish Foreign Minister, rejecting these statements under the slogan “We will not reconcile.”

According to local sources from Afrin, the armed manifestations in the city are no longer what they used to be, especially with some leaders and militants of the armed factions fleeing to Turkish territory through smuggling routes, fearing for their fate in the event of reconciliation between the two sides of the conflict in Syria, which was rejected by both parties.

The fate of these militants and settlers has not yet been clarified in the event of a reconciliation between the two parties, as the Turkish side has not yet revealed the terms of the peace agreement, and whether their status will be settled or they will be handed over to the Syrian regime, which is what the militants of the armed factions fear of.
