The first session between a delegation from Nort-East Syria and the Syrian government’s Central Committee—tasked with following up on the implementation of the March 10 Agreement—was held on Sunday in a positive atmosphere, aiming to strengthen mutual understanding and implement previously agreed-upon terms.

Yasser Suleiman, the delegation’s spokesperson, told ASO News Network that the meeting resulted in an agreement to form specialized subcommittees to oversee the implementation of the agreement signed between the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, and the head of the transitional government, Ahmad Al-Shara. The two sides discussed key issues, primarily education and the return of displaced persons.

Suleiman, along with Syrian government-affiliated sources, described the atmosphere as positive.

A confidential source from the negotiating delegation told ASO News that the meetings will continue after Eid al-Adha, noting that the committee participating today is the main committee, while subcommittees will handle specialized matters.

The source said that the issue of displaced people was addressed, stressing the need to work on their return: “We requested full clarification on the displaced persons file and emphasized expediting the process.”

They also discussed exam-related issues for students from North-East Syria: “We called for urgent solutions regarding the national exams and confirmed our readiness to handle the logistical responsibilities.”

The source added that the delegation from North-East Syria was unified and cohesive in the negotiations and confirmed that there were no external guarantors in the sessions.

The agreement previously announced by both committees includes the following points:

1. Formation of committees to implement the March 10 Agreement.

2. Addressing exam-related issues and ensuring the stability of the education process.

3. Removing obstacles to the return of displaced persons to their areas.

4. Reactivating the file of Al-Ashrafieyh and Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhoods in Aleppo.

Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to constructive dialogue and ongoing coordination to enhance overall stability, agreeing to hold a follow-up session in the near future.
