Since its occupation by the National Army factions, the residents of Afrin have been suffering from the problem of drinking water in the city and the days of water pumping, as the company was limited to one day a week only for each neighborhood in the city, and some sectors in the city suffer from poor pumping, which forces the people to use tanks water trucks to fill their tanks.

“SM,” a resident of the city of Afrin, told Aso News Network, “We have been suffering for four years from the poor work of the water company, which only pumps water once a week for every neighborhood in the city because it also pumps water to the city of Azaz, although the water comes from Midanki Lake, as it is supposed to be intended to meet the needs of the residents of Afrin city only.

Since the occupation of the city, the water company has been harassing civilians, especially the Kurdish population, and before the delivery of electricity to the city of Afrin, the water company was forcing residents to pay water bills and exempting settlers and militants from them, under the pretext that they were displaced and did not have to pay.

The civilian continued his speech, the water company raises the price of water bills until it has now reached the limit of 90 Turkish liras, and forces the residents to pay that bill after linking it to the electric charging cards, as the electricity company made a decision to compel the subscribers to pay what they owe from the water bill in exchange for charging their home card.

And he indicated that there are many houses and residential buildings that have cut off the water due to poor pumping or the presence of a water well, and the owners of those houses have obtained a cutting paper from the company, but now, after several months, many of those who cut off the water are surprised by the arrangement of several months’ bills on them and they are forced to pay them to charge the electricity cards .

Upon reviewing the company, the company informed them of the issuance of a new decision, which is forcing all residents to pay the water subscription, even those who cut off the water, in the event that the residential building in which they live reaches the company’s water, even if they did not benefit from it.

He added, I was among these people, as I was surprised the last time I charged my electric cards by arranging a water bill of 380 Turkish liras for four months ago, and the electricity company refused to charge my card until after I had paid all that amount.

From time to time, the electricity company raises the price of charging household and commercial cards, so the value of the household card has now reached 285 Turkish liras for every 100 kilowatts. The capacity of many of the population in the city of Afrin, in light of the economic conditions that all regions of northern Syria, which are under the control of the National Army and Turkey, suffer from.
