Sheikh Maqsoud: Organizing tents for the people who left their homes as a result of the earthquake
A large number of people are still living in tents that were erected in separate areas of the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh neighborhoods after the February 6 earthquake, as the people are afraid of new earthquakes and shakes.
Local authorities have organized a new place to house the displaced people, near Sheikh Maqsoud’s cemetery, since that space is empty and far from residential buildings.
The correspondent of Aso News Network, in Aleppo, said that the tents were spread near Al-Shaqeef Park and on some roads, and they were asked to go to the vicinity of the two neighborhood cemeteries.
Majida Goran, one of the organizations providing assistance to the people in the tents, told Aso News Network that some people are looking for houses to move to, but most of the ground houses are not vacant, so we organized new tents and asked all the people in the tents to move to the vicinity of the cemetery in Shaqeef, or near “Kunei Beno,” which are now safe places.
She added, “If things stabilize and the earthquakes and earthquakes shakes stop, all the people will return to their homes, and we will end these manifestations.”
Akram Mustafa, a resident of Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood, told Aso News Network, “We spent about 25 days in the tent, then I searched for a house to move into and found two houses, but they need repair and restoration, and all the empty houses are damaged, so I preferred to stay in the tent with my family.”
And he indicated that he was in a tent near Shaqeef Park, then he moved it to the vicinity of the cemetery.
Many of the people who left their homes in the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh during the days of the earthquake and shakes built tents and settled in them.
