SDF announces the arrest of 18 ISIS elements in Raqqa in a joint operation with the international coalition

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced today, Sunday, in a statement published on its official website, the arrest of 18 ISIS elements and those suspected of cooperating with it, during a joint security operation with the international coalition, in the city of Raqqa.

The statement stated that ISIS has strengthened its capabilities and expanded its control in the countryside of Raqqa, after seizing weapons depots, exploiting the chaos resulting in Syria following the fall of Al-Assad regime.

According to the statement, this operation came to deter the organization’s ongoing attempts to destabilize the security of the regions of North-East Syria.

The Syrian Democratic Forces affirmed their commitment to continue their operations against the organization’s cells, calling for intensive international cooperation to completely eliminate it, given the global threat it poses.
