Afrin: Building “apartments” for armed families on looted agricultural lands

Local activists from Afrin said that a new settlement complex in Jenderes district, in the countryside of Afrin, has been opened with Palestinian funding.

The settlement complexes in the city, occupied by Turkey and its loyal factions of the National Army, are taking place within the policy of changing the demographic engineering pursued by those factions with the aim of erasing the Kurdish presence in the region.

With the advent of 2023, the Idlib Al-Watan Team, supported by the Palestinian Soldiers of Islam, announced the opening of the village of Ajnadin Palestine in Jenderes district, after completing the construction of 40 apartments within the plan to complete the construction of 200 apartments.

The apartments were all distributed to the families of Ahrar al-Sham militants, and were built on the road between the villages of Hamilka and Rifaatiya in Jenderes district, on an area of ​​four hectares of confiscated agricultural land.

According to the sources, the agricultural land on which the settlement was built belongs to two brothers from the city of Afrin, which has been seized since 2018 under the pretext of belonging to the former Democratic Union Party, as they considered all their property as spoils of war and lawful for them.

And the Kuwaiti Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor had issued a circular last December to the heads of the boards of directors of charitable societies in the country, which number about 64, to stop granting approvals for the implementation of charitable construction projects in Syria, after these societies contributed to the establishment of projects and residential villages that include houses. and public utilities, in the city of Afrin, with the aim of changing the demographic engineering of the city of Afrin and settling Syrians and Palestinians in it, after the displacement of the original people of Afrin during Operation “Olive Branch” and its occupation by Turkey and its loyal armed factions.
