Dead and wounded at the hands of the Syrian National Army in Afrin during the people lighting the Newroz flame
At least 4 people were killed and others were injured, in the city of Jenderes, in the countryside of Afrin, at the hands of the Syrian National Army.
The victims, who are Kurds from Afrin, lost their lives by the bullets of Jayish al-Sharqiya, while they were lighting the Newroz flame, on the eve of Newroz.
Activists from Afrin said that a family lit the Newroz flame inside their house in the occupied city of Afrin, but witnessed an attack by members of Ahrar al-Sharqiya faction, to prevent the light from being kindled, and the gunmen opened fire on civilians, resulting in casualties and injuries.
Local sources stated that members of Ahrar al-Sharqiya faction accused those celebrating on the eve of Newroz of carrying out actions they described as “associating partners with God.”
The victims and patients were transferred to Afrin Hospital.
The activists confirmed that the group that attacked the family in Jendires is affiliated with Ahrar al-Sharqiya Army, led by a person nicknamed “Hussein al-Dabaa”, and had previously pledged allegiance to ISIS in Badia sector and joined the ranks of the National Army during the occupation of Afrin.
