SDF launches the “Permanent Security” operation to pursue ISIS cells in Al-Hol camp and the surrounding countryside
The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), in coordination with the International Coalition Forces, announced the launch of a security operation called “Permanent Security” in Al-Hol camp and the surrounding countryside, yesterday, Wednesday, November 6, starting in Al-Hol countryside and targeting cells affiliated with ISIS.
In a special statement to ASO News Network, Siyamand Ali, spokesman for the People’s Protection Units, explained that the operation came as a result of the recent increase in the activity of ISIS cells during the year 2024, and its carrying out terrorist operations inside the camp and the surrounding countryside, targeting civilians and internal security forces.
Ali stated that the goal of the operation is to purge the area of ISIS cells, and to restore security and stability in the areas of Al-Hol and Al-Shaddadi.
Ali noted that within two days of the start of the operation, more than 40 members cooperating with ISIS were arrested.
Ali stated that the operation will move into Al-Hol camp after completing the surrounding countryside, and will continue to include Al-Shaddadi with the aim of clearing it of ISIS cells.
