A family was injured in a television explosion in Kobani

Four people from one family were injured in the city of Kobani, on Wednesday, by the explosion of an old television that had been booby-trapped when ISIS took control of the city in 2014.

ASO News Network correspondent, quoting local sources from the city, said that the explosion occurred when a family residing in the village of Debirk, east of Kobani, turned it on for the first time after ten years.

Dr. Shukri Abdul Qader, a general surgery specialist responsible for treating the injured at Kobani’s private Al-Amal Hospital, said that among the severe injuries, the mother suffered severe damage to her eyes, chest, and abdomen.

Her 11-year-old daughter also suffered serious injuries to the eyes, face, chest, and upper limbs, in addition to a fractured skull, which required their transfer to Aleppo hospitals to receive treatment.

The supervising doctor indicated that the conditions of the father and eldest daughter are stable but require medical attention, and they continue to receive appropriate treatment at Al Amal Hospital.
