The Social Affairs and Labours Authority, the Office of Displaced and Refugee Affairs in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, announced today, Thursday, January 23, 2025, opening the way for residents of Al-Hol camp to voluntarily return to their areas.

The Social Affairs Authority confirmed in an official statement its commitment to providing the necessary facilities and securing trips for families wishing to return, noting that this decision comes after the fall of the Assad regime, which was an obstacle to many displaced persons and prevented them from voluntarily returning to their homes in various Syrian regions.

The administration called on international organizations to provide support to the displaced people residing in the camps of NE Syria, stressing the need for the international community to assume its responsibilities towards the displaced from Afrin, Gire Sipi/Tel Abiyad and Serekaniye/Ras al-Ain, to ensure their safe return while providing international guarantees to protect them.

The Autonomous Administration confirmed its continued assumption of its humanitarian and moral responsibilities, while emphasizing the right of voluntary and safe return for all displaced people within international and UN guarantees
