Far from war, Raqqa’s children face the specter of war by theater

As part of its efforts to provide fun and benefit, and in order to keep children away from the atmosphere of conflict and war, and with a view to motivating students and encouraging them to education and their desire to study, in order to compensate for their deprivation of education in past years, the Euphrates Story Team, Sunday October 27, 2019, provided a recreational event for students The school “Ammar bin Yasir”, included a variety of paragraphs and theater performances for children.

The play was attended by more than 500 pupils, from different levels of education, in addition to the presence of teachers.
The premiere was entitled “The River”, which dealt with the idea of adhering to the land and facing the challenges and life difficulties facing the society then followed the premiere comic play under the name (sahibat alfaraja) and then play (the city of flowers and colors).

The children spent a lot of time with a smile on their faces, laughter and laughter. Presentations talked about fraternity, coexistence, love and values of peace, as well as deep issues such as cooperation, holding on to the land, facing challenges, renouncing violence and extremism.

Dahham Al-Sattam, director of theater, said that the performances were presented to schools in order to benefit from this art in spreading pleasure and emphasizing the concepts and ethics of children in an indirect and easy to reach the child.

He stressed the importance of theater in the life of the child, and the importance of raising his imagination and the development of talents and creative abilities and build his personality, and stimulate the processes of creation and creativity, through the provision of plays appropriate to the age stage for him. And address him in simplified levels that suit him.

The school’s spokeswoman, Marwa Al Hussein, said the plays reflected the children ‘s faces of joy and smiles. They also planted moral values such as goodness, giving and cooperation.

Al-Hussein considered that the continuation of such plays helps children build their abilities and develop their talents.
The plays ended by asking the children questions to emphasize the concepts put forward in the play and to deepen communication with them and develop the ability to express them, and gifts were given to them by members of the group “Storyteller Euphrates”.

Shahla Al-Ali, general coordinator of al Hakawati group, said that the theatrical performance is continuing for Monday and Tuesday, and the performances were directed to children this month, in support of children to keep them away from the state of war.

The Euphrates Story Troupe began theatrical performances targeting children, women and families in different cities in northern and eastern Syria.

Theatrical performances also support the idea of developing societies, undermining the thought of terrorism by sending meaningful messages to society through theatrical performances.
