Canceling Akito Day celebrations as a precaution to prevent the spread of the Corona pandemic

The Syriac parties canceled the activities of celebration of Akito Day, which falls on the first of the month of April, as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of the Corona pandemic.

“Nazira Kawriye”, the joint head of the Executive and the administrator at the Council of the Syriac Federation to ASO News Network, explained that Akito is a national holiday and celebration requires gatherings, due to the risk in light of facing the Corona epidemic, it was decided to cancel the celebrations this year.

Akito is the New Year’s Day of the Babylonian, a national holiday that is celebrated on the first of April every year, with going out into nature and holding celebrations.

The measures imposed in the cities and towns of North and East Syria continue to be a precaution to prevent the spread of the Corona pandemic, as the curfew decision enters its ninth day throughout the entire region.
