Eid Newroz: SNA factions bulldozed a village that used to embrace Newroz Serekaniye
Factions affiliated with the Syrian National Army bulldozed 12 homes and uprooted more than 2,000 olive trees in the village of Ain Hisan, in the western countryside of Ras al-Ain/ Serekaniye.
The Turkish occupation supports the armed factions in occupied Serekaniye.
And local sources said that members of Al-Hamzat Division of the Syrian National Army and the Turkish occupation razed 12 houses and uprooted more than 2,000 trees belonging to the Kurdish residents of Ain Hisan village.
“A group of members of Al-Hamzat Division of the factions published pictures of vehicles and excavations, removing his house, and 11 other houses, belonging to his brothers and cousins on the twenty-first of the month of March, which coincides with the celebration of Newroz. Mazloum Hamou Kor, from the village of “Ain Hisan,” a displaced person residing in Amuda, said in a telephone interview to Aso News Network
The bulldozing of houses and trees in the village coincides with the national Newroz holiday.
The village has a special symbolism for the people of Serekaniye. For a quarter of a century, the Newroz celebration was held in the village of Ain Hisan, in clear defiance of the Syrian regime, which was preventing Kurdish national celebrations.
After Turkey and the Syrian National Army occupied the city of Serekaniye on October 9, 2019, the Turkish occupation did not hesitate to work to obliterate the Kurdish identity of the people of the occupied areas.
Mazloum Hamou Kor says that the Turkish occupation “deliberately bulldozed the houses and turned them into a military base, coinciding with Newroz, to obliterate our Kurdish identity, break our will and hopes of return, and turn the village into military bases for the Turkish forces.”
Aso News Network obtained a list of the names of the homeowners whose homes were razed by the armed faction, all of whom are of Kurdish nationalism, and they are (Ali Mustafa Hamou Kor, Mazloum Ali Mustafa Hamou Kor, Dogan Ali Mustafa Hamou Kor, Aziz Mustafa Hamou Kor, and Farhad Aziz Mustafa Hamou Kor, Ali Aziz Mustafa Hamou Kor, Ahmed Mohamed Hamou Kor, Ali Mohamed Hamou Kor, Abdel Qader Mohamed Hamou Kor, Mahmoud Mohamed Hamou Kor, Adnan Mohamed Hamou Kor, and Aziz Mohamed Hamou Kor)
It is not the first time that the Turkish occupation and the armed factions have bulldozed the homes of Kurdish civilians and turned them into military bases, as the Turkish occupation bulldozed the homes of civilians in the predominantly Kurdish village of Dawdiya and turned 70% of the village into military bases for the Turkish forces and operations rooms between them and the affiliated armed factions to the Turkish occupation.
The Turkish occupation also took control of the village of “Bab al-Faraj” in the north of Zirgan district, which is also predominantly Kurdish, and turned it into a large military base that includes hundreds of soldiers, armored vehicles and heavy weapons, after bulldozing a number of civilian homes.
