Encourage children to read and motivate them to love knowledge…”Buds of Aso and Bandarok – Away from War”

In order to encourage children to read, and in continuation of previous activities, Aso News Network and Pandarok Book Café in Qamishlo / al Qamishli on Friday 5/7/2019 organized a special activity for children for the month of July.
The activity at the Pandarok Library in Qamishlo included 10 children between 10 and 12 year old, representing different segments of society.
The aim of the activities has two concepts, one to bring children out of the war in the country and the another one to inform children the general cultural atmosphere and to convey the importance of the book, reading and culture in recreational ways closer to the age of children.
The children were the most affected segment by the war conditions in Syria, even if the areas of Roj Ava / North and East of Syria did not witness the war and the Syrian conflict, which included bombing and destruction, but the region was affected by other conditions.
The activity continued for two hours and contained many parts as painting، play with cubes and questioning and giving answers in addition to two doll play presented in Arabic and Kurdish languages and the play was composed of three characters (a child, a book and a television). The content of the play centered on the fact that the children must Know how important it is to organize their time after finishing school or during the summer vacation, how to fill their spare time between playing on one side and watching TV, reading stories and books on the other, and educating them about using television in a useful way.
Saya, Sham, Blind and Al Harith, who are from the children who participated, expressed their joy and happiness in this participation. Hopping that they will re-experience this experience again in future activities and that they have fully realized that reading is a treasure that must be enjoyed by all children without exception.

“It’s the forth activity and We will continue to organize such activities in cooperation with the Bandarok Book Café as part of a variety of educational activities aimed at consolidating the role of books and reading in the minds of children,” said Abeer Mohammed, the responsible administrative of activities in Aso news network.
“Our main objective is to keep them as far away as possible from the atmosphere of war. ”
Abeer added, “Through the activity of children, we have gained a lot of experience, including how to deal with children of different ages. We also managed to reach their hearts by planting the spirit of fun and humor among them, as well as to identify some of their ideas, hobbies and ambitions in the future.”

It’s worth mentioning that the activity is held once a month, with the collaboration of Aso News Network and Bandork Book café.
