Defense Office in the Administration of North and East Syria denies Turkey’s entry into the region in the next two phases of the “Safe Zone”

Zaidan Al-Assi, joint head of the Defense Office of the Democratic Autonomous-Administration of North and East Syria, told Aso News that joint military patrols between the international coalition and Turkey on the border between Syria and Turkey have begun, stressing that patrols will be concentrated on the border, and Turkish patrols did not Enter the cities of the region, pointing out that the people of the region are to run their security and administrative matters in the safe zone agreed to create.
The statement given by Zaidan Al-Assi to the network through the social networking program “ Whats App ” came a day after the patrols that went on Sunday, September 8, 2019.Al-Assi stated that the SDF and the Autonomous-Administration of North and East Syria are committed to the terms of the tripartite agreement on Safe Zone.
“Al-Assi” pointed out that the security agreement goes through three stages, and aims to remove any conflict between the Autonomous-Administration and Turkey, and refutes the Turkish justifications to threaten the region from time to time.
Al-Assi clarified that the region needs a long term peace away from war “The war will be catastrophic and the region will enter a creative chaos, a return to IS cells, as well as prolonging the conflict in Syria.”
Zaidan Al-Assi stated that the Democratic Autonomous-Administration started implementing the agreed items for the “safe zone” during the first phase.
As for the mechanism of implementation, “Assi” mentioned that the Syrian Democratic Forces in implementation of the agreement has withdrawn from the region, and the transfer of heavy weapons for a distance of 20 km from the border, in addition to the delivery of border security to the military councils represented by the people of the region.
On the other hand, the joint head of the Defense Office of the Autonomous-Administration, demanded that Turkey abide by the terms of the agreement “for a smooth transition to the second and third phases.”
Al-Assi talked about the people of the region having the right to manage and govern the affairs of their region, denying all that is being talked about that Turkey will take control of the region.
And said “As for what some of the media and social media circulated, that the second and third phase of Turkey will take over the management of the region, this is far from truth, and no one can give up the rights of the people of the region, the people will take care of their security and administrative affairs. There will not be any demographic change, which Turkey is seeking. ”
It is noteworthy that the joint patrols of the United States and Turkey began to run vehicles – on Sunday – on the Syrian-Turkish border, within the distance between Sere Kaniye / Ras al-Ain and Tel Abiyad, within the first phase of the tripartite agreement concluded.
As joint patrols between the SDF and the International Coalition entered some cities, including Sere Kaniye.
