SDF arrests a leader of an ISIS cell in Al-Hasakah countryside

On 16/09/2019, SDF forces arrested Khalil Hamad Hamada in the town of Markada, south of Al Hasakah.

“Hamada” is the leader of an ISIS cell, an Iraqi national who was a member of the former Iraqi army, and has experience in manufacturing explosives.

Hamada’s ISIS cell was carrying out improvised explosive device attacks in Al Shadadi area, targeting SDF forces and the civilian population alike.

During the arrest, SDF found several documents proving Hamada’s involvement with ISIS, which would disrupt the entire operations planned by the cell.

Hamada is likely to be in contact with senior ISIS leaders in Al Hasakah and its countryside.
