We have been living in the past months in fear of the threat of Turkey’s and in instability. We were living with great concern,” says Jamila, who left at 4:00 pm, after more than an hour of seeing Turkish planes in the sky of the city.

We headed from SereKaniye/Ras al_Ain to the villages of the countryside then to Tel Temir , before going to a school, a reception of displaced people in Qamishlo /al Qamishli.”

The residents didn’t have any choice of staying, according to Jamila. “The fear and panic with the advent of flight forced the residents to flee instead of an unknown fate, where the city has been shelled for days ” Jamila said.

The Turkish planes had bombed the city for days, as fighting intensified inside the city.

Jamila’s family has been living hard since her departure, so the family waits with the hope of returning impatiently and wondering (Will we return to our city again!) (We missed it!)

The residents of SereKaniye / Ras al-Ain are aware of the devastation caused by the Turkish aggression. Some of returnees to check the city witnessed the impact of bombardment and battles, and witnessed the robbing and looting was conducted by the Turkey-backed Syrian Opposition factions, as they witnessed in the city the mechanism of seizing the property and livelihoods of civilians by militants.

At the school where Jamila family lives, parents’ supplies are provided by local and non-local organizations. “Here they do their duty to us, when my daughter got a fever in the early morning, the female in charge brought doctors for her and they secure milk and baby diapers as well,” Says Jamila.
Jamila is asking for returning back to her house and says at the end of her speech,
“I know our houses have been destroyed, but we want to go back, it will be ok even if only the walls remained, because they will be warmer than all places,” she said
