The opposition factions share the oil and olives from the people of Afrin and impose royalties on their trees
Local activists from Afrin said that Al-Hamzat faction, which controls the village of “Kulian” in Rajo sub-district, detained the drivers of vehicles transporting oil and olives at the faction headquarters in order to collect an oil tank from them or pay an amount of money equivalent to the value of an oil tank.
The activists added that the faction supported by the Turkish occupation imposed a royalty of two dollars on each olive tree, whether fruitful or not, in addition to an independent royalty recognized on the owners of the olive fields to allow them to harvest their crops.
In the context, “Al-Amshat” faction in Sheikh Hadid district imposes sums of money or looted a quantity of oil from each car loaded with olives coming from the village winepress.
Likewise, al Jabha al Shamiya faction in the villages it controls applies tree trunks in red, claiming that its ownership belongs to members of the Democratic Union Party to justify its seizure and to prevent anyone from approaching the trees, even relatives of their owners.
The Syrian opposition factions supported by the Turkish occupation impose royalties and taxes on the people of Afrin, and share the livelihood with them in their agricultural seasons, without even editing a receipt proving that these “royalties” are for certain services!
