The opposition in Afrin controls thousands of olive trees and is investing them in their favor

Local sources from Bulbul sub-district in Afrin countryside said that the so-called “Abu Othman”, the economic official in Al-Sultan Murad faction, controls more than 146 thousand olive trees in Bulbul sub-district and its villages, and he shares olive seasons every year with the owners of the olive fields.

Abu Othman also cuts and logs hundreds of forest and fruit trees and sells them for the benefit of the faction supported by the Turkish occupier at exorbitant prices.

In the context, Souqor Al-Shamal faction, located in the village of “Saaringkeh” in Sharan district, controls 15 thousand olive trees through two persons who guarantee the olive seasons for the benefit of the aforementioned faction.

The olive season in Afrin this year witnessed looting and theft of all kinds, which were legalized by the local administrative councils and the Zakat Administration Authority despite the formation of the so-called “Committee for Redressing Grievances in Afrin”.
