The young man, “Rezan Mohammad Khalil,” 40 years old, lost his life in a Turkish hospital, to which he was transferred after being beaten and tortured by a member of Ahrar al-Sharqiya in Al-Zaydiyah neighborhood in Afrin.

“Rezan” is a resident of Jaqla Fawqani village in Sheikh Al-Hadid district. He had asked the aforementioned faction to release his nephew “Azad” who had been detained for nearly a month by them.

However, members of “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” faction severely beat “Rezan” with the butt of the rifle, which caused him to bleed into the brain and deteriorate his health, and he was transferred to a Turkish hospital for treatment.

According to the sources, after about a week of staying in the hospital, “Rezan” lost his life from the brain hemorrhage he suffered as a result of the blow he received to the head.

The attack on “Rezan” came after he demanded more than once to release his nephew, “Azad Khalil”, who was arrested on charges of dealing with the Autonomous Administration previously.

The faction had demanded that the people of “Azad” pay a ransom estimated at five million Syrian pounds for his release.
