The displaced from Serekaniye / Ras al-Ain in Washokani camp (15 km west of al-Hasakah) complain about the lack of heating fuel.

About 400 displaced families from Serekaniye remain in Washokani camp without heating allowances, while 1,989 families receive only 4 liters of heating fuel per day, according to sources from the camp.

Samir Ahmed told Aso News Network that, since his displacement from the city of Serekaniye, he has been living in the camp with his wife and children, and sometimes he does not get his daily allotments of heating fuel, and he is forced to buy 3 liters of fuel from vendors in the camp every evening.

Fatima Hassan told Aso News Network that they live in harsh times during the winter, because the tents are worn out and cold air, humidity and rain enter them, and they did not receive heating allowances.

In this regard, the co-chair of the Washokani camp council, Alaa Ali, said in a statement to Aso News Network, “The number of tents is 2,374, and the residents of 1,989 tents receive 40 liters of heating fuel distributed over 10 days, as they receive 4 liters every day.

Ali added that about 400 families did not receive heating fuel, and they are not registered with the organizations working in the camp.

Saad Ramo, a member of the Office of Administrative Relations in Washokani camp, explained to Aso News Network that they are seeking to register unregistered families during the ongoing discussions between them and the organizations, to add the unregistered families to their records, which number about 400 families.

Ramo added that the unregistered families are the worst in the camp, indicating that they live in the hospitality section and do not own tents, nor did they receive their allotments of heating fuel.
