The Syrian Kurdish Journalists Network calls for the disclosure of the fate of a detained journalist

The Syrian Kurdish Journalists Network said, in a published statement, that a colleague in the network was arrested by a masked group in the city of Qamishlo / al-Qamishli.

The statement called on the Autonomous Administration authorities in North-East Syria to immediately disclose the fate of the journalist, “Goran Azm,” who, according to the network, was arrested by a group of masked men.

In the statement posted on the network’s Facebook page, the network held the party that arrested Goran responsible for his safety.

The network also warned the party responsible for arresting Goran against any violation or physical harm, describing that the conditions of his arrest came in an illegal manner, without disclosing the reason for his arrest.

The network wrote in its statement that Goran Azm is one of the founders of the Kurdish Journalists Network and is known for his activities defending journalists in the region.

It is noteworthy that the arrest, which was carried out by masked men, according to the network’s statement, came while he was in the main market of the city of Qamishlo / al-Qamishli.
