Ramadan Omari… long decades of singing and performing popular concerts
The singer “Ramadan Najm Omari” grew up in an artistic family in the city of Darbasiyah, and his first beginnings in singing were in 1950 during his studies in middle school, and he set off from there to begin his artistic journey with the world of singing, during his revival of several concerts, events and occasions, and then he moved to the city of Aleppo, with the aim of Receive lessons in the music and solfege at the Center for Culture and Art
“Omari” joined the “serkewtin” band in 1970, thus rising further in the ladder of fame alongside popular artists at the time, including “Mohamed Sheikho” and “Rifat Dari.”
He sang in the Kurdish, Arabic, and Mardali languages and composed more than 60 songs, performing in several concerts in many countries, such as Jordan, Kurdistan, Turkey, and Iraq.
He founded his own band, with a group of folk musicians and composers, in 1972 to conclude his artistic career after suffering from ischemic disease two years ago.
Omari’s songs continue to resonate during the Newroz holidays, bringing back to the memory of the people of the region their memories of years past.
