The people of the city of Qamishlo/Al-Qamishli are complaining of a crisis in obtaining drinking water, in light of the high summer temperatures.

The crisis is concentrated in the Western neighborhoods, Halko neighborhood, Al-Siahi district, Al-Muathafeen district, the Hilaliya district, and Al-Corniche district.

A resident of Al-Khaleej neighborhood in the city (who preferred to remain anonymous) told ASO News Network, today, Friday, that the hours of pumping drinking water have become few, and not enough to fill the home’s tank, forcing them to request water from mobile tanks.

In the same context, Abu Murhaf, from the Al-Muathafeen neighbourhood, said that the water crisis had worsened for them in the neighbourhood, which placed financial burdens and psychological pressure on them in the hot summer weather.

The joint head of the Water Directorate in Al-Jazira region, Khurshid Oso, explained today, Friday, during a statement to ASO News Network, that the disruption of the electricity networks feeding the water wells led to the cessation of pumping during the recent period, and that the generators used to feed the wells are not sufficient to cover the entire water networks. .

He stressed that the water problem will be resolved in the coming hours, with the start of the return of Al-Hilalia, Jaqjaq and Al-Awija stations to work, after repairing the faults and stabilizing the electricity delivery hours.
