The lack of fuel allocations causes an increase in internal transportation fees… and some taxi owners in Al-Hasakah and Raqqa go on strike

The owners of internal transportation services in both Al-Hasakah and Raqqa went on strike on Wednesday, after the Autonomous Administration announced through a circular reducing their allocations from 120 liters to half the amount per week.

One of the taxi drivers in Al-Hasakah told ASO News Network that most of the internal transportation taxis did not work on Wednesday, as a result of their allotted quantity running out.

He pointed out that they raised the passenger fare by 500 liras over the fare set by the Department of Transport in the Municipality of Al-Hasakah due to their purchase of diesel from the free market, he said.

Meanwhile, Yazan Mohammad, the administrator in the Department of Transport in Al-Hasakah, told ASO News Network that they redistributed the diesel in the same quantity as before, and those who raised the fare through their patrols were fined.

He also pointed out that they have stopped distributing diesel allocations to external transportation services until the laser card bearing an electronic code is issued specifying the amount of fuel allocated.

About a month ago, the Fuel Directorate in Tabqa stopped diesel fuel for all owners of subscription generators, which led to the cessation of its operation in all neighborhoods of the city.
Aso Network correspondent in Tabqa indicated that the Fuel Directorate in Tabqa attributed the reason to a decision from the General Directorate of North-East Syria, adding that most of the generators are off despite the high temperatures and the short hours of main electricity operation, which do not exceed 6 hours a day.
