A child died by drowning in the Euphrates River in Tabqa

The five-year-old child, Mustafa Al-Shibli, died by drowning in the Al-Hawaij area, east of the Euphrates Dam in Tabqa, during an outing with his family on Monday afternoon.

One of the child’s relatives told ASO News Network that the child’s family began intensive search operations after he went missing, and continued for more than an hour before he was found by one of the fishermen present in the area.

The source added that the child was immediately transferred to Tabqa National Hospital, but he had died before arriving at the hospital.

Drowning incidents occur frequently in the Euphrates River, especially among children, despite repeated warnings about the danger of swimming in the river water.
