A twenty-year-old girl from the countryside of Kobani commits a suicide with a gunshot

Yesterday night, a girl in her second decade of life committed suicide in her home in Hamdoun village, south of Kobani.

The Aso News Network correspondent, citing local sources, said that the 21-year-old girl (R.Q.) committed suicide by shooting herself with a Kalashnikov at one o’clock in the middle of Tuesday night.

The sources added that the girl was hit by a bullet in the chest area, and she was referred to Al-Amal Hospital in the city.

The administration of Al-Amal Hospital confirmed that the girl died before arriving at the hospital from her wounds.

The network’s correspondent indicated that the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) of the Autonomous Administration in the Euphrates region are continuing to investigate the incident to determine its cause and the motives for suicide.

Suicides are increasing in the Kobani region recently among the young, and psychologists attribute their causes to psychological factors and poor economic conditions.
