Afrin countryside is targeted by the Turkish artillery
Activists from Afrin said that, since this morning, Turkish artillery has targeted the villages of Abyan, Kaluta and Aqiba, which belong to the Sherawa district and are out of the control of the armed opposition factions, in the countryside of Afrin.
More than twenty artillery and rocket shells fell, but there were no reports of damages or casualties as a result of the continued shelling.
In parallel, two members of the armed factions in Afrin, which is under their control, were wounded after two shells landed at the checkpoint of Mashala village in Sharan district, in addition to the fall of a third shell on a camp belonging to the armed factions in the village of Kafr Jannah.
Afrin residents fear that the city will be subjected to a similar bombardment by the Syrian regime forces, in response to the Turkish army’s continued targeting of areas outside its control.
