“Nasamat Fratiyah” … a literary and cultural seminar in the face of terrorism

A group of artists and intellectuals in Raqqa, on Wednesday, participated in a cultural seminar with artistic shows, with the aim of supporting the book and reading, and the restoration of the role of culture in Raqqa, after years of Islamic State control of the city.

The cultural seminar under the title “Nasamat Fratiyah ” taking the name of Al Furat, was organized by “Sunaa Al Amal” Makers of Hope” and” Nabid” “Pulse” in the city of Raqqa, in the presence of a group of poets, artists and intellectuals from Raqqa and its countryside.

The participating intellectuals delivered prose poems and short stories, with a tribute to the life of the writer Abdul Salam Al-Ajili, the son of the city of Raqqa, with poems from the heritage of Raqqa, and the participation of songs and folklore around the city.


Aso news network correspondent quoted from the seminar participants that the main aim of the seminar is to undermine the ideology of terrorism and to combat the extremism that has invaded the city.

Mahmoud Al-Hadi, executive director of” Hope Makers Organization”, said that the project “Nasmat Fratiyah” is a series of seminars, aimed at supporting writers and intellectuals in Raqqa, in addition to show the cultural face of Raqqa after “years of coverage in black.”

The project will last for four months, and will include (4) sessions and seminars.

Participants seek the seminar to convey the resonance of intellectuals and their role in the development and progress of Raqqa.
