Abu Majid (42 years old) resides with his wife, three children, and elderly mother in a small room in the government educational complex building in the city of Serekaniye / Ras Al-Ain.
Abu Majid says, after the ISIS terrorist group attacked the villages surrounding the town of Tel Tamir, my village of Al-Haras has been destroyed and my house has completely destroyed and needs huge costs for restoration, and I cannot repair it.
And he continues, we moved about two years ago with the help of some friends to the educational complex in the city because I could not afford to pay the rent.
Ahmad, 6, and Khadija, 4, did not rejoice in going to school and living what the children are living, because they are not registered in the family book due to the limited situation and the presence of financial costs because of the violations.
“Abu Majid” works in the sewing profession for a fixed fee for each piece. He says, “I dream, as people dream of owning money and projects, but my dream is very simple to own a special sewing machine for me that I can make a living but my conditions do not help me.”
He could not buy the sewing machine, and according to him, his attempt to receive it through the assistance provided by the humanitarian organizations present in the city had failed due to favoritism.
His wife does house and office cleaning work to help him live for a small fee, and they make whatever they can to get the price of the sewing machine he dreams of owning.
The wife does her housework in the building yard, they use old methods, such as a kerosene cooker, and they have no means to prevent them from cold winter.
He thinks carefully for a minute and says, I do not know where we will go if the city is exposed in light of these threats to any military action, we have no other shelter.
This current situation is exacerbated in light of the threats to a military operation in Northern Syria that many of the displaced families residing in the city are suffering.
