Shaddadi – Yassir al-ahmad
Translated by: Hejar Abbo

Mohammad Ahmad al-Mohaimid (35 years old) and his family live in “Al-Shaddadi” town in Hassakeh countryside, after they fled from the countryside of SereKaniye / Ras al-Ain”, after the Turkish aggression and the armed Syrian opposition factions on Rojava / East of the Euphrates / North-Eastern Syria.

Mohammad with his family held out during the first day in their village “Al-Jakeima” in the Serekaniye countryside / Ras al-Ain, that things would calm down as the opposition factions and Turkish aviation progressed, but he says that the next day the shelling intensified and the civilians hurried to flee.” We ran away as the bombing intensified”.

When the families fled, they left everything behind, “We could not take our clothes. We escaped the Turkish aggression without our needs,” according to Al-Mohaimid, who says that “the situation was very bad and horrible.”

In our question to Mohammad al-Mohaimid if he left something behind in the village, he talks with a heartburn that he left a misery of his age, “We have two houses with their belongings and their luggage, 12 sheep and a motorbike all left under the hand of the factions.”

Mohammad has not returned to his village since he got into al-Shaddadi. “We did not go to the village. We were communicating with people who were there, but they also deserted the village. The news received was that the armed factions did not leave a house without robbing it, looting it and robbing its contents.”

People are afraid to return, fearing of arrest by the armed Syrian opposition factions.

During his talk, al-Mohaimid indicates that before the occupation of the city, Turkey with the opposition factions talked about that they would bring stability to the region, but “we went back, the reality is very bad.”

“We have helped a lot, but we need heating oil and aid where we are unemployed,” said al-Mohaimid, who is in al-Shaddadi and wants to look at their situation.

The stories carried by the displaced from Serekaniye / Ras al-Ain, due to the aggression of the Turkish occupation and the Syrian armed opposition factions, are numerous, in each story a painful event and a new violation of humanity.
