A Russian delegation visits a funeral tent for a civilian who was shot dead by the Turkish border guards in the countryside of Trbe Sipiye

On Tuesday, a Russian military delegation visited a funeral tent in the village of “Derena Aghi / Deir Al Ghusn, in the countryside of Trbe Sipiye / Al Qahtaniya, belonging to farmer who was shot by the Turkish army, while he was cultivating his land located on the border between Syria and Turkey.

“Riyad Khaled,” a relative of the victim, told ASO News Network, that a Russian delegation led by an officer and about ten soldiers, carried by armored and military vehicles, visited the mourning tent on Tuesday morning.

The visit of the funeral tent by the Russian delegation was not only for the purpose of condolence, but for the purpose of researching the circumstances of the shooting by the Turkish side of a civilian farmer in his land on the Syrian side.

“Riyad” stated that he and the victim’s son accompanied the Russian vehicles to the accident site, where the family’s farmland is about 700 meters from the Turkish border.

“Riyad” said that they explained to the Russian delegation the circumstances of the incident, and that, in the name of the family, they complained about the danger facing farmers, who own agricultural land on the Syrian side and close to the Turkish border.

The past years have witnessed many instances of shooting by Turkish army at civilian farmers.

It is assumed that the region is witnessing a truce, while there are joint Russian-Turkish patrols operating in the region.

One of the people said that Turkey, through its actions, is working to provoke the authorities and the people on the Syrian side, while there is a truce that requires all parties not to fire.

The people addressed their complaints to the Russian support as Russia is one of the guarantors, and they said that the danger is hovering around the people living by the border, and that they are being targeted directly by the Turkish army.

According to the people, the Russian delegation promised to discuss the matter in the meeting that will bring them together with Turkey in the coming days.

The Russian officer, in an appeal to farmers, demanded not to go to agricultural work on their border lands for days to come, pending a meeting with the Turkish side to discuss the matter.
