The tragic price of chicken meat in Al-Shaddadi and the Supply Division confirms: It is out of our control

The markets of Al-Shaddadi witness a big rise in food prices, which caused anger among the residents.

ASO news network monitored the opinions of the residents in Al-Shaddadi markets as follows

“Najwa Al-Jasem” a housewife says, I was surprised by the rise in the prices of meat and vegetables, and the price of a kilo of meat rose to more than 450 Syrian pounds compared to its price in one day, and I could not buy, where is the oversight of the markets?

Ahmad Al Ali adds, “My family consists of 10 people. We need at least two chickens per single meal. This sudden rise causes an obstacle to my monthly salary, which makes me unable to buy chickens more than once a month.”

“As Eid approaches,” Ahmed asked, “How can I meet the needs of my family on Eid with these prices?” Where is the control?

The official of the Joint Presidency of the Supply Division in Al-Shaddadi told ASO News Network that the reason for the increase in chicken meat is due to the high exchange rate of the US dollar, stressing that this rise is rapidly outside the control of the Division.

She also pointed out that the significant increase in the exchange of the US dollar resulted in a rise in feed prices, in addition to the difficulty of roads, transportation and customs as a major reason for the high price of chicken meat.
