A number of writers and poets announced, on Wednesday, that their literary works presented at the “Martyr Herakole” exhibition in Qamishlo / Al-Qamishli will be presented to those who wish for free, as a contribution from them to alleviate the burden of the economic crisis on the readers.

The poet, Maya Darwish, told ASO News Network that she participated in the book exhibition for the first time in her only group, “Third Bank”, and decided to reduce the burdens of buying the group and presenting it to those who wish as a gift to them, free of charge.

The poet pointed out that people are busy securing a living, and we have to be close to the readers and take their hands in these difficult economic circumstances.

As the poet described to ASO News Network, this initiative is “the right of the reader on the writer because the one who works in the field of creativity needs a reader who possesses the aesthetic taste.”

“Jan Papier” explained that after complaints were received from friends about the high prices of books as a result of the deteriorating economic situation in our regions, and that creativity is not a financial project and does not aim for financial gains, we, a group of writers and authors, gifted our works presented in the exhibition to fans of reading for free.
