A year after the kidnapping of an elderly Kurdish woman from Afrin … her fate remains unknown
The fate of the elderly woman, “Zahida Shabak” (60 years old), nicknamed Umm Alaa, remains unknown since she was kidnapped by the “Al-Jabha Al-Shamiya” faction a year ago on the pretext of possessing weapons in her home, in the village of Naza, in the district of Bulbul.
The kidnapping of “Umm Alaa” came after she refused to surrender her home and the homes of her sons to the armed factions.
Members of the “Al-Jabha Al-Shamiya” faction claimed that weapons were found in her house and that they were kidnapped.
Her son-in-law, “Jiwan Waqas”, tried to restore the houses that the armed faction had seized, and he was also kidnapped.
“Jiwan” was released after paying $ 300 and signing a pledge not to ask for the home again.
The faction, backed by the Turkish occupation, had stolen all the contents of the homes of the elderly “Umm Ala” after her kidnapping.
