A young man dies by drowning in the Euphrates River in Raqqa

On Friday, a 23-year-old, a young man died drowning while trying to swim in the Euphrates River in Raqqa city.

“Yasser Al-Khamis,” the administrative official in the initial response team, told Aso News Network that they had found the young man’s body hours after he had drowned.
“Al-Khamis” added that the young man lost his life when he was swept away by the stream while trying to swim in the river.

The young man is from Hazemah village in the countryside of Raqqa.

The Euphrates River is witnessing almost daily drowning cases, as 70 bodies have been recovered from the river since the beginning of 2020 until now, and seven people have been rescued, according to “Al-Khamis”.
