The opposition factions sell the properties of Afrin’s forcibly displaced residents for small sums of money
Local activists from Afrin city said that the armed Syrian opposition factions, backed by the Turkish occupation, are selling the properties of Afrin’s forcibly displaced residents, as part of the demographic change plan that the city is exposed to.
Activists added that the “Mu’tasim Brigade” faction sold agricultural land near the arc of Afrin on the Aleppo-Afrin road, with an area of about one dunum, to a settler in the city of Idlib for an amount of four million Syrian pounds.
The land belongs to the family of the late “Mahmoud Kalash”, a resident of “Qibara” village in Afrin countryside.
The aforementioned faction also sold two houses belonging to “Muhammad Sheikh Hamza,” displaced from Afrin, for an amount of $ 1100 to a settler from the city of Homs.
The family of “Muhammad Sheikh Hamzah” confirmed that he had suffered a sudden stroke after hearing the news of selling his house where he lost his life over his properties on the tenth of August.
The “Jaish Al- Islam” faction also sold a house owned to “Salah Mahmoud Habib” in the village of “Tranda” for $ 400 to a settler from the city of Hama.
These buying and selling operations are made publicly, as they are documented with the Real Estate Documentation Department in the Local Council after the passage of contracts for mayors, most of whom are descended from settlers who were appointed by the armed factions in line with their interest.
