Afrin: Imprisonment and punishment are the fate of those who file a complaint with the Grievance Redress Committee
Local activists from Afrin said that the “Sultan Murad” faction, which controls the village of Mashala, intimidated the villagers and forced them not to file complaints to the Grievance Redress Committee.
A delegation from the Grievance Redress Committee had decided to visit the village of Mashala to examine the conditions of the population, and before the delegation’s arrival, Nasser Al-Nahar, the leader of the Sultan Murad faction in Masha’ala, was informed of their visit.
Accordingly, Al-Nahar threatened the villagers, through the Mukhtar, of the consequences of submitting any complaint or grievance to the committee, otherwise the complainant will be subjected to severe punishment.
According to the sources, the so-called “Nasser al-Nahar” has been in control of more than 800 olive trees for three years, owned to the forcibly displaced citizen Azad Kahraman, and he refuses to hand them over to his brother, who lives in the village.
The elements of the “Sultan Murad” faction, who come from the countryside of Homs and settlers in the village, control three-quarters of the homes there and allow only a small minority of the population to return to their homes with constant harassment.
