70% of Al Raqqa roads are in the service soon
The people municipality in Al-Raqqa began the work of paving the roads that were damaged as a result of the underground tunnels and trenches, which were dug by ISIS during controlling the city.
“Mizar al-Ahmad,” an engineer at the technical services department of the municipality, told Aso news network that the asphalt works extended to the northern motorway of Al Raqqa, which connects Tel-Abiyad and Raqqa.
Adding that work is currently underway on the asphalt of the western and northern sides of the road next to Al Sawamaa roundabout where the work is focused on the affected sections, especially the tunnels or places of flight bombing that affected the city.
The most prominent difficulties facing the rehabilitation of roads, “Al-Ahmad” said that the long way between the asphalt plant and the city is one of the most difficulties, where the location of asphalt plant is about 50 km away from the city, in addition to the inflammations on the main roads, which resulted from the proximity of agricultural land from express highways.
On the delay of the rehabilitation of the roads, “Al-Ahmad,” says that ” the beginning to repair of drainage and water networks were more important , then comes the priority of roads.
During this summer, 70% of the city’s roads will be covered up, he said.
