His story started with a question and answer in Raqqa resulted to killing by ISIS
The streets of the city of Riqqa aren’t without scattered stories, recounting the tragedies of people during the rule of ISIS, who used various kinds of violations and sanctions far from reality and conscience and humanity, the most prominent rule (Qassas). Because Qassas often ended up with the killing of its owner, we tell the story of Mahmoud, 44-year-old, from al-Hazeema district in the countryside al-Raqqa, who, like many civilians, whom provision was applied to them.
It is not easy for a woman to tell the loss of her husband and protecting her children among the cruelty of life, the security of living, the requirements of reality and the continuation of days, and the scene that does not leave the family in the absence of the householder,
Mahmoud Al Harrak’s wife tells ASO news network what happened to her husband by ISIS,
“I am from Al Hazeema area and I have four children, two daughters and two sons, and the eldest child is disabled. I have no salary, no work, and not even a family householder to protect me and my children. My life is related to the livelihood from my brothers and my family and good friends.” “I was kicked out of my house and took over it completely with all the things inside. So my children and I stayed in the street to have only our clothes. All this happened in June of 2014, which was the beginning of my painful story that I still suffer until now. .
Mahmoud’s wife talks about the details of the story that on 6/6/2014 , a face covered group of ISIS came at dawn and forced Mahmoud (the husband) to go with them , I tried to understand why, they answered, (Q & A, no more), But the truth was quite different from what they said. “When we followed up on the subject, it turned out that my husband and nearly 20 people from the same area were imprisoned at point 11 as ISIS call it, the black stadium.”
She added “I went to the prison begging and kneeing in front of the feet of ISIS leaders, hoping to see my husband, but they never invited me to enter, so I continued to beg and explain to them what went on in my house from poor poverty, child sickness and disability without my husband’s presence. One of the judges suggested to come back after a few days to visit him, and on that basis my husband’s brother, my children and I came on an official visit, so I and the children entered only, while my husband’s brother was prevented from entering. When I saw my husband, the traces of torture and beatings appeared very deep on his face and body. He said, “I am accused by dealing with sleeper cells and someone should pay a guarantee to get out. ”
The wife completed that after hearing the husband’s statement, she became confused. She told his brothers, who in turn sent several people to pay for him, but they did not succeed because “he refused to do so at all.”
After 15 days, the wife visited the husband again, and asked him about the details of his story, and why he was not released by ISIS and he was the only one who remained in prison among the others who were released. A week after the first visit , ISIS released 20 prisoners and completed the release of the rest except her husband. The husband replied that somebody has recorded his voice, while talking about a ISIS and its truth and his and that his accsation of dealing with sleepers. The judge sentenced him to apostasy(qasas). “When I heard this talk, I trembled with fear and panic. I cried and wanted to scream, but my husband to calmed me down and said lower your voice and stop crying, I do not want anyone to hear you, hoping Not to apply this malicious provision.
She added,
” Soon after, my husband’s brother went to ask about my husband again, and the answer was that he got the punishment, and they told him: We have applied the rule of killing to him, so do not ask about him at all.
The wife ended her speech and tears fill her eyes and she says Mahmoud was a peaceful man, and his heart was filled with love and tenderness,I never forget him, and now I live in the hope that he is still alive, this hope leads me to complete my life in peace, and to be able to stand beside my children in this wild life.
A Witness on the story:
Ibrahim Hussein from Al-Hazeema, a witness to the story of Mahmoud, told Aso’s news network that one day he was sleeping in his house. At 3:30 am, he heard the sound of the door. When he opened the door, he saw masked elements calling for Ibrahim . He said to them, “I am Ibrahim,” and they took him directly. He said to them, “Just let me wear a dress,” where he was in his underwear clothes and he said, “I found myself and Mahmoud al-Harak in the same car. They gathered us in front of the municipality. We couldn’t ask about the story or even move or speak. ” Adding that they were taken after gathering them to the black stadium in Raqqa, where there were foreigners and Turks among ISIS elements. “In the beginning, they collected information about us, and then we were counted on the interrogation units and then they put us in a room with a number of 40-50 people, according to the arrests and evictions.” For me, I stayed in my underwear for 4 days, One of the prisoners gave me a dress (Jalabiya), and of course we were living in a state of fear and panic of the sounds of torture that we were hearing, because the torture was in the corridors between the rooms, where the voice of the torturers and screams of beating enters our depths.
“After 27 days of this tragic situation in the black stadium in Raqqa with torture and beatings, all of us were released except Mahmoud, who was accused of a recording voice while talking about ISIS to their displeasure,” Ibrahim Hussein said.
This is another story that shows reality in a time of ISIS. How many painful stories are still there. And how many case of injustice and oppression and the separation of necks from the bodies are still hidden about what the terrorism of ISIS did with the peaceful civilians.
